Iran Press/ Middle East: Iraqi forces, backed by aerial and ground support from the international coalition, tribal forces and the local population, have been conducting operations in recent months to destroy underground hideouts used by extremists in remote areas of Anbar province.
Ghasim Mosleh, commander of Iraqi PMU (Hashd al-Shaabi) operation in al-Anbar, said: "In this operation, irreparable damage was inflicted upon the terrorists and they are still under siege."
Abdul Wahab Al-Saadi, the head of Iraq's anti-terrorist service, announced last March that 22 ISIS members, including several prominent leaders, were killed in the operation of the country's army in al-Anbar province in the west of the country.
The Iraqi army also killed 17 ISIS members, including three leaders of this terrorist group, in another military operation in al-Anbar in early March.
In 2017, Iraq announced the victory over the ISIS terrorist group, but scattered elements of this terrorist group are still active in some areas of Diyala, Kirkuk, Nineveh, Salahuddin, al-Anbar and Baghdad provinces. 219
