Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has congratulated the appointment of Hakan Fidan as the new foreign minister of Turkiye.

Iran PressIran News: In a message on his Twitter account, Amir-Aabdollahian wrote on Sunday that they had held talks on several occasions and described Hakan Fidan as a professional and wise diplomat.

The Iranian FM tweeted: I sincerely congratulate the appointment of my brother Hakan Fidan as the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkiye. We have met and spoken times and again. He is a professional and wise diplomat. I tell my brother Mevlut Cavusoglu well done.  

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won the presidential race for the third time in a row, and he appointed Fidan to replace Mevlut Cavusoglu, who served in this post since 2014.

Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber took part in President Erdogan’s third inauguration ceremony in Turkiye’s capital Ankara on Saturday.
