Iran's FM:

Tehran (IP) - Pointing out Belgium's role in the European Union, Iran's foreign minister said that mutual respect and the establishment of effective dialogues should be on the agenda of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the European parties.

Iran PressIran news: Belgium's Foreign Minister, Hadja Lahbib, and Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian had a telephone conversation on Saturday. 

Amir-Abdollahian welcomed the joint efforts that led to the release of the prisoners of the two countries. 

Expressing hope for recent developments in Iran-Belgium and Iran-Europe relations, Iran's foreign minister stated that effective dialogues with mutual respect should be on the agenda of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the European parties.

Belgian Foreign Minister, for her part, appreciated the assistance of the Islamic Republic of Iran to resolve the issue of European prisoners.

Lahbib also appreciated Iran's humanitarian action and expressed hope that recent developments lead to a new chapter in Iran-Belgium relations.

Referring to Belgium's role in the EU, Lahbib noted that Belgium is ready to boost Iran-Europe relations.
