South Africa (IP) - The Iranian Foreign Minister invited his Emirati counterpart to visit Iran for the enhancement of bilateral relations.

Iran PressAfrica: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has traveled to South Africa to participate in the joint meeting of foreign ministers of BRICS member countries and friends, held in Cape Town.

On the sidelines of the BRICS meeting in South Africa, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with the UAE's FM Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and expressed the positive environment shaped among the region's countries.  

Amir-Abdollahian appreciated UAE's efforts to expand bilateral relations, including the participation in Tehran Expo 2023, and invited Sheikh Abdullah to visit Tehran.  

He considered the consolidation of stability and security in the Persian Gulf region a collective responsibility and common benefit of the countries of the region, adding that the Israeli regime seeks its interests trough fueling insecurity and does in the region.

Sheikh Abdullah, for his part, invited the Iranian FM to visit Abu Dhabi, noting that it was necessary to expand the relations between the two countries in all fields of interest, including the economic fields.
