Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Minister reported a comprehensive plan of strategic cooperation that is to be signed between Iran and Oman.

Iran PressIran news: Elaborating on the meeting of the Iranian and Omani Presidents on Sunday, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in a joint press conference with his Omani counterpart that the quadripartite transit agreement between Iran, Oman, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan was among the topics emphasized at the meeting.

Amir-Abdollahian highlighted Oman's special place in Iran's foreign policy and said that Oman's role in regional and international developments is constructive.

He referred to the meeting of the Iranian and Omani presidents and said that their talks revolved around strengthening shipping lines between the two countries and activating their ports' capacities.

The Iranian FM said that following President Raisi's last year visit to Oman 13 agreements of cooperation were signed between the two countries which has led to the double enhancement of trade volume between the two.

Four more agreements of cooperation were signed during today's meeting between the Iranian and Omani top officials, focusing on such areas as energy, investment, free zones, and industrial cooperation, he added.

Oman's Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi, for his part, called the Sultan of Oman's visit to Tehran shows the depth of the two countries' relations, which founds new bases for the next cooperation.

He referred to tourism, especially medical tourism, ports and maritime issue, and renewables among other areas of future cooperation. 

The Omani FM said that the deep ties of Oman and other neighboring countries with Iran will lead to their security and peace.
