Iran PressIran News: Pasargadae complex is an ancient area, including a large number of structures which was remained from the first capital of the Achaemenid era (sixth century BC) in Iran, located in the valley of Polvār River, and established by Cyrus the Great.

CYRUS TOMB

Pasargadae ancient complex made of materials as stone, brick, mud brick and wood, is representative of the first step of flourishing and development of architecture, sculpture, painting and simulating arts in the Achaemenid era, which is considered to be a model for Persepolis; it is an extraordinary testimony of Iranian civilization.

 

Takht-e Jamshid, a World Heritage Site and an Ancient Civilization

Without a doubt, most of the people traveling to Iran, plan to visit the Takht-e Jamshid. This magnificent archeologic site is one of the most ancient civilizations in the world. The complex was actually the center of the great Persian Empire and ceremonial capital during the Achaemenian era. The monument was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1979 by UNESCO.

 

Naqsh-e Rostam

Naqsh-e Rustam is an ancient necropolis located about 12 km northwest of Persepolis, in Fars Province, Iran. In Naghsh-e Rostam we can see four tombs and one building from Achaemenid dynasty with a group of ancient Iranian rock reliefs cut into the cliff, from Sassanid dynasty; the last important relief is from Elam dynasty and it dates back to 1000 BC.

 

Karim Khan Citadel

The Arg of Karim Khan or Karim Khan Citadel, is a citadel located in downtown Shiraz, Iran. It was built as part of a complex during the Zand dynasty.

 

Shapouri Pavilion and Garden

 

Shapouri House or Shapouri Pavilion and Garden is an early 20th-century Iranian building and garden in the city of Shiraz, Iran. It has 840 square metres of underpinning and 4635 square metres of garden area, and it is built on two floors. This building is in the old central region of Shiraz, known as Anvari.
