Iran Press/ Europe: Iran which managed to reach the semi-finals of the fencing competitions, could overcome Italy on Sunday 45-37 and win the third place of the world cup.
Iranian fencers Ali Pakdaman and Mohammad Fotouhi defeated their Italian rivals respectively 35-32 and 45-37.
Iran's saber team reached the semi-finals after defeating Chile, Canada, and Georgia, yet it was defeated by the US and failed to reach the finals.
Iran's team also won a silver medal in the 2023 World Cup in Algeria, which was the first World Cup of the 2023 season.
