Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Ministers of Information and Communications consult over shoring up cooperations in the post, transit, and relevant start-up areas.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Issa Zarepour met with Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali Oman's Transport, Communications, and Information Technology Minister on May 11, 2023, in Tehran.

During the meeting, the parties emphasized on development of Postal cooperation and payment services through the signing of MoUs, within the framework of the Universal Postal Union's rules and regulations.

Also, each party was supposed to appoint and introduce a senior representative to coordinate the ICT working group.

During the meeting, Iran's ICT Minister said: Both sides decided to have interactions regarding the cooperation of post offices.

Issa Zarepour stated that Iran announced readiness for transit between the two countries through the territory of the Islamic Republic, and the establishment of joint data centers in places close to Oman, such as Chabahar port city, for electronic cooperation

Oman's Transport, Communications, and Information Technology Minister, for his part, said that the most important mutual issue discussed was startups that can be implemented very quickly.

Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali noted: Iran has many experts who are active in the fields of engineering and medicine in the Sultanate of Oman, so I hope we can expand our cooperation with Iran in information and communication technology to operationalize the startups.
