Damascus (IP) - On the onset of Takfiri moves in Syria and Iraq, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei truly said the moves had a Zionist nature, Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi addressed people in the holy Shrine of Hazrat Zeinab.

Iran PressMiddle East: The president made the remarks during a visit to the holy Shrine of Hazrat Zeinab (AS) on Wednesday as part of his Syria trip.

On the first day of his visit to Syria on Wednesday, President Ebrahim Raeisi visited the holy shrine of Sayyeda Zainab (PBUH) in the suburbs of Damascus.

A public ceremony was held on Wednesday to welcome Iran’s President Ebrahim Raeisi at Sayyeda Zainab (P) Holy Shrine in Damascus suburbs.

At the ceremony, Raeisi pointed to the foreign-provoked war in Syria which started in 2011, saying "For 12 years they conspired, 12 years of sedition, 12 years of illegal financing ISIS terrorist group, 12 years of killing children and making women homeless."

"But today Syria is standing strong and proud. Eternal shame on the enemies of Islam and honor and proud for the Mujahideen of God's way," the president said.

He said that the Leader termed the move as being of a Zionist and US nature while some others had failed to have a true analysis of the situation.

President Raisi appreciated and thanked the Syrian government and the nation on behalf of the Iranian government and the nation for their resistance against this sedition.

"But today Syria is standing strong and proud. Eternal shame on the enemies of Islam and honor and proud for the Mujahideen of God's way," the president said.

"On behalf of myself and the government and nation of Iran, I praise the people and government of Syria for their resistance and standing and victory in this field," he added.

He noted that the resistance of the people in Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine has set the conditions in favor of the resistance front and against the Zionist regime in the region.

Referring to Iran’s fundamental policy on supporting the oppressed nations, President Raisi said that Iranians will continue to stand with the oppressed people of Palestine and the resistance in Lebanon and Syria and everywhere in the world.

Iran will certainly stand with Syrians to rebuild the country as it was in difficult periods with Syrians, Raisi said, noting that Iran-Syria ties are not just a simple diplomatic and political relationship but they are deep-rooted and strategic ones that will never break.
