Tehran (IP)- The Head of Iran's Department of Environment said a flood drainage system was vital for the environmental agencies to save the country from the land subsidence disaster.

Iran PressIran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Wednesday, Ali Salajeghe said on the sidelines of the cabinet session: "Iran can solve the problem because it is properly experienced in the field of watershed management."

Salajegheh said that human treatment of the environment, especially in the water area, on the one hand, and climate change, on the other hand, which have led to the reduction of aquifers in the long term, the Ministry of Energy should manage the issue, and the Department of Environment should carry out the necessary supervision."

"Another issue is the use of wastewater, which means the emphasis is put on its returning to aquifers," he added.
