Tehran (IP) - The Iranian President says people's participation should be paid attention to in all fields, including cultural, economic, and social ones.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking on the National Day of Councils, Ebrahim Raisi stated: "There is no individual, organization, or body in Iran that has not been elected by direct or indirect vote of the people."

"Today, those who claim democracy are defending countries that have never held elections," he said.

"Iran is a country that has held an election every year on average, yet the enemies hate it because Iran wants to move according to its ideals," the president noted.

"The development of developed countries is more in the field of production and economy, but in the field of social, moral, and spiritual affairs, they may not be so developed," Raisi stressed.

"The Western definition of development is different from ours. They see human beings in physical needs, and we consider both physical and spiritual needs necessary for humans," the president highlighted.
