The fifth session of Iran-Turkey's supreme council for strategic relations concluded with a joint statement in Ankara on Thursday with signs showing bright future for people of these countries.

Iran Press/Iran news: The most important section of Iran –Turkey's agreements stated in the final joint statement is the goal of reaching $ 30 billion in Iran-Turkey commercial relations in a year, which requires using the appropriate mechanisms. Considering the important fact that, this deal signed when US imposed unilateral sanctions against Iran, shows that Turkey is decisive for progressing its strategic partnership with Iran.

Turkish officials' opposition and disregard to US unilateral sanctions against Iran, will pave the way for implementation and reaching the goal of $ 30 billion trade relation between Iran and Turkey in a year.

In this regard, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani on Dec. 08, 2018 in a meeting with speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Binali Y?ld?r?m in Tehran expressed his appreciation to Turkey for standing against US sanctions and keeping its partnership with Iran.

Rouhani said: “Iran appreciates Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and government efforts' for development of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

He also emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to deepen ties with Turkey in all fields of mutual interest specially energy and banking sections.

Zarif: Iran, Turkey seek security, stability in region

Regarding the political will, the most important element that will help Iran and Turkey to achieve the agreed horizons in commercial relations is the existence of stability and security in the region, and across Iran-Turkey's common borders, which rightly pointed out and emphasized in the Joint Statement signed by the leaders of two countries in Ankara on 20 Nov 2018.

Speaking on Thursday in a joint press conference with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said that during the Meeting of High Council for Iran-Turkey Strategic Cooperation, we made decisions for development of trade and economic relations.

In the final statement of the fifth session of the Supreme Council for Strategic Relations between Iran and Turkey, headed by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Turkish counterpart, it is stated that the use of maximum existing cooperation mechanism between two countries for real fight against illegal and terrorist activities of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the Party for Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) elements along the common borders of two countries and joint actions of two countries for fight against terrorism are in the interest of Iran and Turkey.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey as two most important countries in the region with stable security and real efforts to achieve peace and security in the region, have taken constructive and reassuring steps in the real fight against terrorism.

The security of Iran and Turkey is not separated from the security of the region, thus security and stability are the first elements that the two countries could take important steps in favor of their nations.

Therefore, Iran and Turkey are determined to establish security and stability in the region.

Iran-Turkey cooperation with Russia's participation in the process of the Syrian reconciliation in the Astana peace talks for the settlement of the Syrian crisis showed determination of Tehran and Ankara to achieve peace and security in the strategic region of West Asia.

This cooperation already has remarkable results for the Syrian people and the region. Now the Astana peace process is approaching to the level of solving the Syrian crisis. This fact that the first Syrian constitutional committee is scheduled to be held in Geneva, Switzerland in 2019 shows that efforts had been taken in a right way.

On last Tuesday, 18 Nov 2018, Special Representative of United Nations Secretary-General's for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, said: "Iran, Turkey, and Russia's efforts to succeed in formation of Syrian Constitution Committee is admirable."

The strategic and constructive cooperation of Iran and Turkey in various fields, including efforts to establish security in the West Asia region, have a message to foreign powers that they can't decide for the region's security anymore.
