Iran Press/ Iran News: Farvardin 29 (April 18) is named Army Day in the calendar of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Naming April 18 Army Day was one of the initiatives of Imam Khomeini (RA), the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran at a time when the country's Army was facing various forms of internal and external sabotage.
According to the Iran Press news agency, Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi, Commander of the Air Force of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while celebrating the Army Day, said that the April 18 parade is different this year compared to previous years with the presence of more than 40 types of indigenous and non-indigenous fighter jets, from all across Iran and concentrated over the skies of Tehran and the Holy Mausoleum of Imam Khomeini (RA), the founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, will be held to show the air authority of Islamic Iran to the world.
Brigadier General Vahedi emphasized that improving the specialized knowledge of pilots, especially young pilots, evaluating the level of readiness of air operational units, and ensuring the preservation and protection of Iran's air borders are among the other predetermined goals of this air parade.
Referring to the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in providing stable security in the region, the commander of the Iranian Air Force stated that the parade is a declaration of readiness to respond to any threat at any level. It is a very strong operation that carries a message of peace and reassurance for the allies and neighbors of the country.
