Mashhad(IP)-The Night of Qadr ( Laylat al-Qadr,) rituals was held in Imam Reza Holy Shrine with the large presence of Iranian and foreign pilgrims and residents of Holy Razavi Shrine.

Iran PressIran news: According to Iran press news agency, the mourning people of Mashhad, together with the pilgrims of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (AS), on Sunday night, during the e 19th night of the holy month of Ramadan dubbed as Laylat al-Qadr rituals through the recitation of Holy Quran and Joshan Kabir, prayed to Allah the All Mighty.

The courtyard and porticoes of the holy shrine of Imam Reza were filled with mourners of Imam Ali( AS) on the night of Qadr, and the lovers and followers of Prophet's Progeny from Arabic, African and Afghan origins were present in the ceremony.

Laylat al-Qadr, (Qadr nights) Islamic ceremony commemorates the night on which God first revealed the Qurʾān to the Prophet Muhammad through the angel Gabriel (Jibrīl).

It is believed to have taken place on one of the final 10 nights of Ramadan in 610 CE, though the exact night is unclear. The date of the annual commemoration thus varies throughout the Islamic world but is most commonly observed on the 23rd night of Ramadan for Shia Muslims and on the 27th for Sunni Muslims.

According to Islamic tradition, the Quran was first revealed to the Muhammad prophet after a period of habitual meditation in seclusion. During one of his retreats, on Laylat al-Qadr, the angel Gabriel appeared to him and commanded him: “Iqraʾ!” (“Recite!”).
