Tehran (IP) - The spokesperson of Iran's government said that the formation of an international fact-finding committee is necessary to deal with the violation of the rights of hundreds of thousands of French protesters.

Iran PressEurope: Ali Bahadori-Jahormi wrote on his Twitter account: "Emmanuel Macron's government is directly responsible for widespread violations of human rights and harsh treatment of protesters who want their citizenship rights; France must be accountable for its actions towards the citizens of this country."

"The formation of an international fact-finding committee is necessary to deal with the violation of the rights of hundreds of thousands of French protesters," Bahadori-Jahromi stressed.

In recent days, hundreds of thousands of people in France's different cities demonstrated their opposition to the government's plan to raise the retirement age by going on strikes and staging protests.
