Croatia (IP) - The ambassadors of foreign countries, cultural and political officials, and the Iranians living in Croatia celebrated the Nowruz occasion in Zagreb, the capital.

Iran PressEurope: In the ceremony held on Thursday night, the Iranian Ambassador to Zagreb, Parviz Esmaili, congratulated Nowruz occasion to the guests and called it a divine sign, a symbol of Iran's great civilization, and the occasion of Iranian's happiness, friendship, and kindness. 

There in the ceremony, an Iranian traditional music group performed works. Also, some Iranian handicrafts as well as video clips of Iran's cultural and artistic attractions were displayed.

Nowruz, which means "New Day" in Persian, is a traditional Iranian new year celebration.  It has been celebrated in Iran for over two thousand years by all people regardless of ethnicity, religion, or language.

Nowruz is celebrated by people of Central Asia, Caucasus, and many other places in West Asia.
