Rome (IP) - On Saturday, a group of Italian activists gathered in front of the Colosseum in Rome to protest the continuation of U.S. and Western sanctions against Syria.

Iran PressEurope: According to Iran Press correspondent on the ground, the protestors strongly criticized Washington's policies in sanctioning its opposing countries, calling the sanctions of the United States and its allies against Syria an inhuman act and a crime against humanity.

They also called for an immediate end to the sanctions against Syria.

Italian activists also called for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq and other countries in the region on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the crime, aggression, and occupation of Iraq.

Simultaneously with the protest, other rallies were held in the United States and other European countries.
