Rome (IP)- Italians went on strike on International Women's Day in Rome.

Iran PressEurope: On Wednesday, tens of thousands of Italians, with the call of trade unions, did not show up at work in protest of "increasing violence against women, wage inequality, exploitation, and anti-immigrant and racist policies" in this country. This nationwide strike paralyzed various Italian public and private sectors for 24 hours.

The nationwide strike in Italy also grounded urban and rail transportation throughout the country and caused many problems for people. The wandering of people, especially foreign tourists, was clearly evident in the long lines of buses in Rome.
