Sistan and Baluchestan (IP) - The naval drill will kick off tonight (Thursday) in the northern Indian Ocean with the participation of Iran, China, and Russia as well as observers from Kazakhstan and Pakistan.

Iran PressIran news: The Spokesman of the drill Admiral Mostafa Tajoddini told Iran Press about the items of the exercise: "We began with receiving the Chines and Russian naval units and took them to our territorial waters."

The officers then took part in the briefing session to receive the answer to their questions, he said and added that tomorrow the vessels will move to the drill area.

Seven Iranian naval units both from the Army and Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) would join the Russian and Chinese units to participate in the drill, then would be formed, and next would be under the command of the Iranian frigate Sahand. 

Shooting on the surface, tactical operations, and communication between the operation chambers will be the programs of the first day of the exercise, as Admiral Tajoddini tells Iran Press. 

The next day, the participants are scheduled to rescue two vessels seized by the hypothetical pirates, from the air and the surface water.
