Lebanon (IP) - The Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement notes that Iran is not seeking to dominate Syria.

Iran PressMiddle East: Delivering a speech on Friday evening, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said that Iran doesn’t practice colonialism in Syria but helps Damascus to defend it and prevent its downfall.

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered the speech in the memorial ceremony held to honor late Hajj Assad Mahmoud Saghir [Hajj Saleh].

Nasrallah said that some try to promote that Iran came to control and dominate Syria; which in turn practices its entire sovereignty and freedom and takes all the decisions it wants.

Elsewhere in his speech, he referred to the restoration of the Saudi-Iranian relations and noted that the rapprochement is good and will serve the interests of the peoples of the region and may open new horizons in the region and Lebanon as well.

After several days of intensive negotiations, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed to restore their relations and re-open the embassies of the two countries, on Friday, March 10, 2023.

Syria’s true rival is US

The Secretary General of Lebanon's Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said that Syria’s true rival is the US and the Syrian nation needs all kinds of cooperation from friends and allies.

Nasrallah said that the regional and international developments indicate that the blockade and sanctions won’t remain and will be broken.

He said: "Some Arabi regimes have an imagined battle with Syria; which is out of the circle of submission to the US, and has always been eyed for the US schemes in the region."

Sayyed Nasrallah said that in the second year of the war on Syria, it was offered to abandon its key position within the Axis of Resistance but it refused.

Syria’s support for the resistance movements has changed all regional equations, he pointed out.

Lebanon, Syria, Palestine fate interconnected

The Secretary-General of Lebanon's Hezbollah says that what is taking place in the occupied Palestine and Syria affects Lebanon.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said: "What is taking place in the occupied Palestine is historic and very important; there is a dominating sense within the ‘Israeli’ entity that the internal and external division will lead to the annihilation."

Elsewhere he stressed that Speaking of the present and future of Syria and Lebanon is the same as speaking of those of Lebanon; Syria and Palestine are Arab and we have an ethical, nationalistic, and religious duty to take care of.

Sayyed Nasrallah also addressed the issue of Israel and noted: "The ‘Israelis’ fear a third annihilation of their entity; and what is happening there brings big hopes in which what is happening to the ‘Israeli’ entity is attributed to the defiance and resistance in the region."

Sayyed Nasrallah pointed to some regional states' normalization of ties with the Israeli regime and stated that normalization doesn’t protect the entity and won’t stop the Palestinian operations

The significant transformation today is that within ‘Israel’ today there is fear of something similar to what happened on May 25th, 2000 in South Lebanon, he recalled.

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that what is happening today in the West Bank and the 1948 lands is of a high level of importance for the project of Resistance

Sayyed Nasrallah said: "Today’s priority is to extend the hand of help to the resisting Palestinians who are pushing this entity to the abyss."

"Whatever happens in Palestine affects Lebanon’s security, sovereignty, present, and future; imagine that Palestine today neighbors Lebanon without ‘Israel’, this is not a dream rather a coming truth."
