Tehran (IP) - Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naeem Al-Aboudi discussed scientific cooperation between Iran and Iraq with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Ali Zolfigol, including technology parks.

Iran PressIran news: Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naeem Al-Aboudi who arrived in Tehran on Saturday paid an official visit to Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST) on Mar.5, 2023.

Al-Aboudi said: "Our horizons and perspectives to science and technology parks and research institutes were envisioned in today's visits."

While appreciating Iran for its positions regarding ISIS and its efforts to support Iraq, he said the two countries have a lot in common, therefore, they should sign strategic agreements in scientific and academic research field. 

He said: "Iraq declares its desire to expand relations in scientific research fields, exchange of professors and students, and share scientific experiences." 

"We want to develop university visits between the two countries for further cooperation," he added.

With the coordination and special facilities, a branch of Iran University of Medical Sciences was opened in Karbala city of Iraq. 

Al-Aboudi also said that his country declares its full readiness to accept Iranian students to study in Iraq.
