Geneva(IP)- In the meeting with his Finish counterpart in Geneva, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran announced the agreement for Grossi's visit to Tehran in the near future and expressed his hope that if political pressure on the IAEA is avoided good progress in technical matters would be achieved.

Iran PressEurope: In the meeting between the foreign ministers of Iran and Finland, they discussed and exchanged views on topics of interest in bilateral, regional, and international relations, the developments in Ukraine, and especially the latest status of negotiations on the lifting of sanctions.

According to Iran press, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met and talked with Finland's Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto this morning in the first bilateral meeting in the framework of his trip to Geneva.

In this meeting, there was a discussion and exchange of views regarding the topics of interest in bilateral, regional and international relations, the developments in Ukraine, and especially the latest status of the sanctions lifting negotiations.

Amir- Abdollahian expressed his satisfaction with the previous good meetings with his Finnish counterpart in New York and Tehran, as well as the previous telephone conversations with each other, and welcomed the continuation of these diplomatic consultations.

Iran and Finland are moving towards expanding relations

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran described the relations between Iran and Finland as historical and accompanied by mutual respect and added that the two countries are moving in the direction of expanding relations.

Referring to the good efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the establishment of a ceasefire in Ukraine by the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amir- Abdollahian emphasized that we are strongly against the expansion of NATO and the continuation of the war in Ukraine and against threatening the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries.

Referring to the unreal controversies regarding the claim on the export of Iranian drones to Russia for use in the Ukraine war, Iran's FM  pointed to the content of the talks between the technical and expert teams of the two countries and added that so far;  no reliable document has been sent to the Iranian side about this claim and the Islamic Iran is ready to hold the second round of talks between the technical and expert teams of the two countries, as reflected the Ukrainian side through various diplomatic channels.

Amir- Abdollahian emphasized Iran's support for the end of the war in Ukraine and for returning to dialogue.

Agreement for Grossi's visit to Tehran in the near future

Referring to the recent visit of the Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency to Tehran and the good talks, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran announced the agreement for Grossi's visit to Tehran in the near future and expressed his hope that if political pressure on the IAEA is avoided good progress in technical matters would be achieved.

Regarding the negotiations to lift the sanctions, Amir- Abdollahian also said: "Since  September of last year, we were ready to revive the JCPOA and return all parties to the agreement, but the double standards of the United States and subsequently their miscalculations regarding the recent internal disturbances in Iran caused a halt  in the agreement."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, also referring to the exchanged messages and recent diplomatic movements, expressed the hope that" We will see all parties return to an agreement in accordance with the provisions of the agreement signed in 2015."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran also criticized the non-constructive approach and miscalculations of a few European countries in connection with the recent riots in Iran and informed the Finnish side of Iran's good faith actions in relation to some European citizens who played a role in the recent unrests in Iran.

Amir- Abdollahian emphasized that there is no problem for Europeans who are in Iran or traveling within the framework of the laws.

Referring to the normal conditions of Iran, he informed the Finnish side of the general amnesty of the Supreme Leader in connection with the factors involved in the recent riots.

The Finnish Foreign Minister expressed his satisfaction with the continuation of contacts and bilateral talks between the officials of the two countries

In this meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland also pointed out the good political relations between the two countries and expressed his satisfaction with the continuation of contacts and bilateral talks between the officials of the two countries and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran.

Referring to the importance of the Ukraine issue for Europe and the security of this continent, he considered the positions and information presented by the foreign minister of our country regarding Ukraine and especially the issue of drones to be important and thanked him, adding that" I am going to talk  with the foreign minister of Ukraine in this regard."

Expressing his satisfaction with the points and information presented by Iran's foreign minister regarding the nuclear deal as well as talks and cooperation between Iran and the IAEA, the Finnish foreign minister emphasized: "We demand the revival of the JCPOA and the implementation and adherence of all parties to it."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland pointed out the importance of continuing bilateral dialogues and emphasized his interest in continuing these consultations in the future.

Furthermore; Iran's Foreign Minister, who has traveled to Geneva to participate in the Human Rights Council meeting and the annual meeting of the Conference on Disarmament, met and talked with the foreign ministers of Armenia and Belgium separately.
