Iran Press/ Iran news: Iran's Defense Minister, Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Gharaei Ashtiani, met and talked with his Iraqi counterpart, Thabet Mohammad Saeed Reza, in Tehran on Saturday evening.
In the press conference after the meeting, the Minister of Defense of Iran said: looking at Iraqi issues has a strategic aspect, and supporting unity and helping stability and security in Iraq is on the agenda.
Ashtiani, while emphasizing creating an environment with stable security that will lead to the development of Iraq, said: In this meeting, the problems of the two countries regarding the activities of terrorists in Iraq were also mentioned.
He emphasized: We will not allow Iran's borders to be threatened, and in this meeting, the presence of extra-regional forces and the Zionist regime, which are a threat to Iraq's security, were discussed.
The Minister of Defense of Iraq also said: We have problems in the field of national security that can be solved through dialogue and bilateral relations between Iran and Iraq.
He added: In this meeting, we also talked about strengthening Iran-Iraq relations and border wars.
