Tehran (IP) - The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, rejected the contents of the statement of the third meeting of the joint working group of the United States and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran PressIran news: The United States and the members of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council issued a statement on Thursday in Riyadh after the end of their joint meeting and repeated the accusations against Iran.

In this statement, the United States and members of the Gulf Cooperation Council expressed concern about Iran's nuclear developments and asked Tehran to fully cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency's investigations.

According to Iran Press, the Spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nasser Kanaani rejected the repeated and boring accusations made in the said statement on Thursday night and added: "The sale of billions of dollars of weapons and munitions by the United States to the countries of the region, support for Takfiri terrorism, the continuation of full support for the crimes of the Zionist regime against the oppressed Palestinian nation and the devastating war of several years against the Yemeni people are the result of destructive and interventionist policies of US in the West Asian region and the Persian Gulf which have disturbed the stability and security of the region.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed to the Islamic Republic of Iran's belief and responsible commitment to regional diplomacy and the end of crises through a political solution, as well as the favorable and growing relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran with neighboring countries, and expressed hope that the countries of the region, with a correct understanding of the intentions of America's commercialism and evil policies in the region, take a step towards peace and security and sustainable development of the region.

He emphasized: "The Islamic Republic of Iran continues to advance its peaceful nuclear program and cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency in accordance with the rights and obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Comprehensive Safeguard Agreement in a constructive manner and is not influenced by political pressures and propaganda."
