Aleppo (IP) - The head of Iran's Red Crescent Society arrived at Aleppo airport with the eighth shipment of Iranian aid to the affected people in northwestern Syria in order to monitor the aid delivery process after visiting the Turkiye earthquake-affected area.

Iran PressIran news:  "Salman Nawab Nouri", the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Aleppo, Syria, welcomed Pir Hossein Kolivand, the head of Iran's Red Crescent Society (IRCS), and his accompanying delegation at the Aleppo airport on Thursday morning.

Eleven search and rescue forces of the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran entered the city of Aleppo on the very first day of the earthquake in northwest Syria and have been providing relief to the victims of this tragic event as well as participating in the aid and rescue operation

Number of death Türkiye-Syria passed 41,000

According to the latest reports, the death toll from the Türkiye-Syria earthquakes has passed 41,000.

Turkish authorities say 35,418 people have been killed in the country. The Syrian government and the United Nations say more than 5,800 people have died in Syria.

Kolivand, Iran's Red Crescent Society, had previously traveled to Türkiye in order to monitor the aid, rescue, and relief process in the earthquake-affected areas of this country.

The fourth shipment of humanitarian aid from the Islamic Republic of Iran has arrived in Aleppo.

This was eight planes of the Islamic Republic of Iran aid cargo to the people affected by the earthquake in Syria.

As a result of the earthquake on February 6th in southern Türkiye and northwestern Syria, in addition to heavy damages in five provinces of  Syria, many people were killed.

The earthquake in Aleppo completely destroyed 54 buildings and killed 500 people and injured a large number of citizens, 750 of whom are hospitalized.
