Tehran (IP) – Iran's Minister of Culture says that hijab is a cultural issue that requires a cultural approach to deal with.

Iran PressIran news: On the sidelines of the cabinet session on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, Mahdi Esmaeili told reporters that President Raisi believed that the hijab is a cultural and social issue, and there is no other way to address it, but with a cultural and social approach.

Esmaili stressed that President Raisi opposed either the political or security approach to the issue of hijab and that if there happened a violation of the Iranian-Islamic dress code in the country, it should be dealt with culturally.   

The minister also referred to advertisements and stressed that those who advertised their goods on foreign satellite TVs would be dealt with legally.
