Iran Press/ Iran News: "Hassan Bahram Nia" and "Wissam Aslan Al-Jubouri", governors of Iran's Ilam and Iraqi Babil provinces, signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of all-round relations, especially in the economic field.
Development of tourism and cultural relations, communication between chambers of commerce of two provinces, issuance of technical and engineering services, health tourism, agriculture, provision of equipment for irrigation networks under pressure and pumping systems, speeding up and facilitating the movement of Arbaeen pilgrims are among the issues raised in the agreement.
Ilam Governor Hasan Bahram Nia on Thursday in a meeting with Iraq's Babil Governor Wissam Aslan Al-Jubouri and on the sidelines of the signing ceremony of the bilateral cooperation agreement between Ilam and Babil provinces of Iraq called Babil province as the cradle of history and civilization.
Bahram Nia said: "Babil province is full of economic capacities in various fields of agriculture, tourism and history, and due to the extraordinary capacities of the two provinces, this opportunity should be taken as advantage in order to develop trade relations and exports."
He added: "There are good capacities in Ilam province for dealings in economic, tourism, animal husbandry, industrial, health, and medical fields and we hope that these sorts of cooperation will lead to the development of both provinces in the form of a memorandum of understanding."
In the end, the Governor of Ilam, referring to the huge Arbaeen Congress, also stated: "Ilam province and Mehran border crossing, as the gate of the holy shrines, witness the traffic of Iranian and Iraqi pilgrims throughout the year, and this opportunity can be used to strengthen the religious sphere of the two provinces."
