Tehran (IP) - In response to European Parliament's recent attempt to put IRGC on their terror list, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs warned Europe that Tehran may withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) in a reciprocal move.

Iran PressIran News: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian referred to the recent action of the European Parliament against the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps, saying: "The European Parliament made an emotional decision and rationality did not govern those who did this and the meeting during which the decision was made."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs further stated: "We have been trying to get the European Union to change its direction and perspective for months, and the result was that they came to the conclusion that this issue should not be raised in the European Union because the decisions of the Council of Ministers of the European Union are binding on themselves. But they passed this resolution at the level of the European Parliament as a part of a show off."

In an interview, he mentioned: "Today's action of the parliament and the plan that binds the government and at the same time considers the European military forces as a terrorist army, is a countermeasure."

Amir-Abdollahian stated that he had conversations with the European Union's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell and the rotating president of the European Union and they stated that they are not looking for the implementation of this resolution and the resolution is only an expression of the feelings of the members of the European Parliament.

In response to the question of Iran's withdrawal from the NPT or the expulsion of the IAEA inspectors will be among Iran's confrontational behaviors, Iran's foreign minister said: "Few European political leaders have no experience in the field of diplomacy, and today they are only at the head of the diplomatic apparatus, including the minister. Therefore, if they do not move in the direction of rationality and correct their positions, any possible countermeasure is conceivable."
