Tehran (IP) - The opening ceremony of the 41st Fajr International Theater Festival was held in Vahdat hall in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on Saturday.

Iran PressIran News: The opening ceremony of the 41st Fajr International Theater Festival kicked off in the presence of Mahmoud Salari, Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Kazem Nazari, Director-General of Performing Arts, Kourosh Zarei, Festival Secretary, and a number of artists and cultural and artistic directors at Vahdat Hall in the Iranian capital of Tehran.

Speaking at the 41st edition of the Fajr International Theater Festival, the Deputy Minister of Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mahmoud Salari, expressed hope that The Players Theatre could screen a real world where the oppressed and oppressor are taken for mistake.

The capital city of Iran is hosting 12 plays on the first day of the 41st edition of the Fajr International Theater Festival.

It has been said that the theater festival is followed by the 41st Fajr International Film festival. The prestigious event is to host 40 plays in the national competition, and 23 troupes will give performances in the international competition. Foreign troupes from Brazil, Russia, Oman, Spain, Iraq, Armenia, Tunisia, and Jordan have taken part in the artistic event. Several theater experts from Ireland, Serbia, Algeria and Russia will hold workshops during the festival, which will run until January 31.

The 41st edition of the Fajr International Theater Festival features a scientific section during which twenty papers from ten Muslim countries are slated to be presented on January 27 and 28.

A special part of this ceremony was the commemoration of Saeed Tashakkori and Ali Soleimani, two late figures of Iranian theater.

Also, the judges of some sections, including the street and stage sections of the 41st Fajr International Theater Festival were introduced at the event.

In a written message to the 41st Fajr Theater Festival, Mohammad Mahdi Esmaili, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, said: "I am grateful for the significant presence of artists who believe in the essence of theater in this festival from different countries."

He also described Fajr International Theater Festival as a golden opportunity to interact with the world, like the usual essence of theater itself and said: "The theater's world is based on "Dialogue" and "Thought"."
