Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister, in a telephone conversation with his Swedish counterpart said Europeans are indebted to the efforts of the IRGC in the fight against terrorism.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Swedish counterpart Tobias Billström in a telephone conversation discussed bilateral and international issues.

In the conversation, Iran's foreign minister, while strongly criticizing the non-constructive position of the European Parliament towards the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), expressed hope that the relations between the European Union and Iran will continue on the right path during Sweden's presidency on the European Union.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran emphasized: "The destructive actions of the European Parliament against the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) are against the United Nations Charter."

Iranian top diplomat added: "Europeans are indebted to the efforts of the IRGC in the fight against terrorism."

Referring to the need to expand consultation between Tehran and Stockholm, Amir-Abdollahian said the historical relations between the two countries should not be allowed to be affected by some people with personal and terrorist interests.

Tobias Billström stated that the recent resolution of the European Parliament against IRGC is non-binding.

The Swedish Foreign Minister also pointed to the importance of consular consultations between the two countries and expressed hope that cooperation in this field will continue.
