Tehran (IP) - The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council said that fortunately, with the serious will and continuous efforts of the officials of the two countries, the economic cooperation between Iran and Russia is on the path of strategic agreements.

Iran PressIran News: Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council and Special Representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in a meeting with Igor Levitin, Aide to the President of Russia, referred to the developing relations between the two countries in all fields, stressing the acceleration of the implementation of joint economic projects within the framework of the agreements of the presidents of the two countries.

Shamkhani considered the supportive role of Iran and Russia in the global energy and transit markets to be important and necessary and pointed out that the system of unilateral sanctions hinders the development process and causes the escalation of regional and global crises, and emphasized the need to create joint and synergistic institutions to deal with sanctions and activate international capacities against sanctions and sanctioning countries.

In this meeting, Igor Levitin also presented a report on the progress of joint projects between his previous trip and stated: "Considering the strategic impact of completing the North-South railway project and Russia's commitment to quickly complete the Rasht-Astara section, our main priority is to start Fast operational measures related to this plan."

Pointing to the unique capacities and advantages of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of energy and transit, he announced the interest of Russian companies to have a large presence and invest in infrastructure projects in Iran.

Referring to the agreements made for the development of trade relations using national currencies and clearing goods, Levitin added: "Fortunately, Thanks to measures of the economic and banking authorities of the two countries, the necessary mechanisms to overcome the restrictions caused by sanctions in the monetary and banking fields have been removed and soon We will witness a serious leap in the trade relations between the two countries."
