Tehran (IP) - Referring to the increase in sea travel between Khorramshahr port and Kuwait, Noorallah Asadi, the Director-General of Khorramshahr Ports and Shipping Organization, said since the beginning of the Iranian year (Starting from March 20, 2022), 15,000 passengers have traveled from Khorramshahr port to Kuwait by passenger's vessels.

Iran PressIran news: Asadi said that two passenger vessels with a capacity of 220 people are sailing every week from Khorramshahr to Kuwait.

The Director-General of Khorramshahr Ports and Shipping Organization also added that they were following up and negotiating to establish a cruise ship route through Khorramshahr port to Iraq.

Regarding exports from Khorramshahr port to neighboring countries, Asadi noted: During this period, one million and 500,000 tons of goods were exported from Khorramshahr port to Kuwait, Iraq, and other Persian Gulf countries.

Port of Khorramshahr Special Economic Zone (P.K.S.E.Z) is located on the south-west end of the Khuzestan plain, with geographical position longitude 48-9E, latitude 30-26N on the confluence of Karun and Arvand rivers.
