Tehran (IP) - The spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed his concern about violent actions, riots, destruction of public property and attacks on democratic and sovereign institutions of Brazil.

Iran PressIran News: About a week after the inauguration ceremony of the new president of Brazil Lula da Silva and the official start of his government, the supporters of the former president of this country, Jair Bolsonaro attacked the buildings of the National Congress, the Supreme Court and the presidential palace of Brazil.

Following this attack, Brazilian security forces arrested at least 150 Bolsonaro supporters who were involved in attacking government buildings. Following these events, Da Silva, who had traveled to the state of Sao Paulo, issued a decree declaring a state of emergency and placing the security forces in charge of restoring peace to Brasilia, the capital of Brazil.

According to Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanaani expressed his concern about the violent actions, riots, destruction of public property and attacks on the democratic and sovereign institutions of Brazil.

Kanaani stated: "The Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes the need for stability, security and respect for the rule of law in Brazil to be maintained under the shadow of the government based on the people's vote and will.

Lula da Silva was able to defeat Bolsonaro in Brazil's Presidential Elections by winning more than 60 million votes and became the president of the country for the third time after a gap of several years.
