Iran Press/ Africa: In a Press Conference in Bauchi State, the Secretary of the Concerned Muslims Group of Nigeria, Mohammad Habib Abdullah said: "The Concerned Muslims has in strongest terms condemned the continued assault being waged by anti-Muslim French magazine, Charlie Hebdo against Islam and its revered figures. Despite the global condemnations that ensued following the satirical cartoons of our noble Prophet Muhammad over the past years, the French Government under the pretext of freedom of speech allows the magazine to keep insulting our revered Islamic figures unabated."
The group added: ''As recently as this week, the magazine published a satire of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei which is meant to provoke Muslims worldwide. This cartoon comes in the wake of a foreign plot to destabilize Iran by sponsoring rioters in the country to defy the Government and encourage the Iranians to rise against the Islamic Republic."

"It is a well-known fact that the magazine can in no way be allowed to condemn Israel's aggression in Palestine despite the mounting evidence that indicates the systematic attempt to depopulate the Palestinians, displace them from their homeland, and pave the way for the invaders to occupy their land. Only Islam and its revered personalities are being insulted in the name of freedom of speech," said Mohammad Habib.
The statement continues: "We at Concerned Muslims of Nigeria call on the International Community and the Muslim world to resist the latest assault on Islamic values by the French magazine and do whatever it takes to make the country pay for its aggression against Islam by boycotting French products and even expelling French ambassador French."
Mohammad Habib Abdullah concluded with: "We would like, at this juncture, call on the Nigerian Government to summon the French ambassador to Nigeria, and hand him a letter of protest against the country's continued disregard for the sanctity of Islam and the emotional of Muslims around the world."
