A ceremony for commemorating the third anniversary of the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani was held in Beit al-Zahra (PBUH) in Minsk, the capital of Belarus.

Gen. Soleimani, the former commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), and Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) former Second-in-Command Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were assassinated along with their companions in a US drone strike authorized by the former US President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.

Lt. Gen. Soleimani and his companions were highly popular because of their key role in eliminating the US-backed ISIS terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.

Lt. Gen. Soleimani was assassinated by the US while he was in Baghdad at the official invitation of the Iraqi government.

In a ceremony, on Friday, attended by Iranians living in Belarus, the memory of the martyr Qassem Soleimani was honored in establishing security and peace in the region.

Saeed Yari, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said: Sincerity, genius, and strategic thinking were among the most important personal and professional characteristics of the resistance front commander.
