Doha (IP) - The Governor of the Central Bank of Iran and his Qatari counterpart in a meeting stressed the development of monetary and banking cooperation and communication between the two countries.

Iran PressMiddle East: Mohammad Reza Farzin, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, in a meeting with Sheikh Bandar Bin Mohammad Al Thani, the Governor of the Central Bank of Qatar, emphasized the development of monetary and banking cooperation and communication between Tehran and Doha.

Emphasizing the positive prospects of economic relations between Iran and Qatar, he stated: "By increasing monetary and banking cooperation between the two countries, along with putting bilateral and multilateral monetary agreements on the agenda, we will definitely achieve the goals foreseen in Tehran-Doha relations."

Also, during this meeting, the Governor of the Central Bank of Qatar stressed Doha's interest in increasing banking and monetary relations with Iran and said: "The development of banking relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of our main priorities and this cooperation will definitely benefit both countries."

He stated: "We will use any means to deepen and increase cooperation and banking and monetary relations between Qatar and Iran."

It should be noted that Mehdi Safari, the Economic Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, also accompanies Iran's Governor of the Central Bank on this trip.

Increasing monetary and banking exchanges and cooperation between Iran and the Persian Gulf countries is on the CBI's agenda.
