Iran is ready to help Iraq, combating the drug trafficking, said deputy ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Baghdad Seyyed Mousa Alizadeh Tabatabaei on Saturday.

Iran press/Middle East: As the Islamic Republic of Iran helped Iraqi government and people to fight against ISIS terrorists, Tehran is ready to cooperate with Iraqi government to combat drug trafficking, Tabatabaei said according to IRNA.

Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported the stability, territorial integrity, security and development of neighboring Iraq and is prepared to provide Iraqi government with its latest scientific and industrial achievements with the aim of reconstructing and rebuilding Iraq, he explained.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, received Barham Salih Iraqi President and his accompanying delegation in November 17.

"After the defeat of ISIS terrorists with the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran and disclosure of malicious plan of their supporters, today, they have targeted innocent people of the neighboring Iraq once again", Tabatabae said.

“By importing and distributing narcotics into Iraq, supporters of terrorists in the region try to deviate and seduce young people of Iraq.”

He remarked, Accusing Iran of entering narcotic drugs to Iraq is a 'ridiculous charge' raised by those who are against amicable and fraternal relationship between Iran and Iraq.

The main source of drug trafficking in Iraq and the region is the countries which destroyed infrastructures of Iraq and consequently, supported terrorists and sent suicide terrorists to this country, Tabatabaei stressed. 208/103
