The former president of Afghanistan called for expanding cooperation among Muslim countries to preserve unity in the Muslim world.

Iran PressIran news: While attending at the opening ceremony of 32nd Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran, Hamed Karzai, added, equality and justice among religions are essential for securing and developing peace in Islamic countries.

He also said, the experience of Afghanistan shows that unity among different religions is a natural and essential issue and the followers of different religions can live without any problems together.

Pointing out that fortunately attempts by saboteurs to scupper unity in Afghanistan were futile, Karzai added, efforts to break the gap among followers of various religions in Afghanistan have failed.

He reiterated that followers of different religions in Afghanistan live peacefully under the umbrella of Islamic brotherhood.

Appreciating the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran to keep the unity among the countries of the region, former president of Afghanistan said, while supporting the Afghan people, the Iranian government, has provided our people's needs in recent years.

He also said, the continuation of war in Afghanistan and some parts of the region is a worrying issue for us. Karzai expressed hope that by stopping interventions in regional countries, the war in Middle East will be finished.

The former president of Afghanistan added the proper use of the region's resources can lead to develop it.

He also called Islamic countries for supporting Afghan people and attempt to secure Afghanistan.

The 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference opened in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Saturday morning with high-ranking officials from Muslim countries as well as Shiite and Sunni scholars in attendance.

The theme of the conference is ‘Quds pivot of Islamic unity’ and 350 foreign guests, including 10 ministers and 40 Muftis from Muslim states are taking part in the 32nd Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran. 101/202
