"The parties accused of escalating tensions in Ukraine are the same ones who accuse Iran of sending drones to Russia. This accusation against Iran is rooted in political motives," he stated.

Regarding the developments in Syria, Kanaani said, "Cooperation between Iran and Russia in Syria is an example of successful and constructive cooperation to resolve a complex regional crisis."

"Our presence in Syria is of an advisory nature and was carried out at the request of the Syrian government. We welcome any positive development in relations between Ankara and Damascus and encourage both sides to close relations," said Kanaani.

Separatist groups in Kurdistan violate sovereignty of Iraq
