Europe (IP) - Leo Varadkar becomes Ireland’s new Prime Minister as Micheál Martin steps down.

Iran PressEurope: Varadkar will take charge as the Irish Prime Minister for the second time after Micheal Martin's resignation.

This change in the Prime Minister's office will likely lead to a ministerial reshuffle.

Leo Varadkar will no longer be the minister for enterprise, trade, and employment.

Paschal Donohoe and Michael McGrath will also see an exchange of roles from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry for Public Expenditure, respectively.

Other ministerial reshuffling and appointments will follow shortly.

The primary focus for the new Taoiseach will be the conflict between the EU and the UK regarding Brexit-related Northern Ireland Protocol that is yet to be resolved.
