Yamoussoukro (IP): The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ivory Coast announced the holding of the second meeting of the joint commission of Tehran and Yamoussoukro in the near future.

The authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran have held several meetings with African authorities in recent months in or der to expand relations.

The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Ivory Coast, Amir-Hossein Nikbin, announced plans to hold the second meeting of the joint commission of the two countries in the near future.

According to the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, in a meeting to review the ways of development and expansion of trade and commercial relations, Nikbin said: "The continuous holding of the joint commission is a suitable platform for the development of economic cooperation and the conclusion of a memorandum of understanding, agreement and commercial contract."

Nikbin added: "Abidjan port in Ivory Coast is the second largest port in Africa and the connection point for exports to West African countries, which should be used well."

The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ivory Coast noted: "There are suitable fields for cooperation in the pharmaceutical fields for export and registration. In this context, the capacities of the Red Crescent in Ivory Coast should be used."

Nikbin went on to say: "There are also good capacities for cooperation in various fields, including gas, bitumen, and agriculture.
