After tense quarter-finals at the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar, fans know only a couple of games now separate them from securing football's most prestigious trophy. In the big match ahead, Argentina national team will face a tough test against Croatia before a shot at World Cup glory.

Iran PressMiddle East: Lionel Messi is just two matches away from World Cup glory but his Argentina side must first find a way past Croatia at the Lusail Stadium on Tuesday.

The European side has, once again, upset the odds to reach yet another World Cup semifinal after beating tournament favorite Brazil in the previous round and make no mistake, Argentina will have its work cut out if it reaches the final.

The Croats took a dazzling Brazil team into the trenches on Friday after scoring a last-gasp equalizer to force extra-time and eventually a penalty shootout, which it won thanks to more heroics from goalkeeper Dominik Livaković.

The Brazilians, who lit up the tournament with their attacking dynamism, were prevented from playing their entertaining style of football by a well-drilled Croatian team with a resolute defense.

Croatia, runners-up in 2018, have gotten their own taste of Argentine temper in the past following their group stage win over them at the 2018 World Cup with then-Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli refusing to shake Dalic's hand.

But Dalic, whose team beat tournament favorites Brazil also on penalties to advance to the last four for the second World Cup in a row, said he bore no grudges.

"I understand the actors involved and the expectations were high back then (in 2018). It happens and we shall not hold any grudges," Dalic told a news conference on Monday.
