Iran PressEurope: The Iranian parliamentary delegation headed by Vahid Jalalzadeh, head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament, has traveled to Moscow.

In the meantime, the 15th plenary session of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) commenced in Moscow on Monday, and Iran is participating in the event.

On the conference's sidelines, Jalalzadeh met and talked with the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, Sergey Neverov.

Referring to Russia's constructive role in regional and international developments, Jalalzadeh stated that Iran and Russia could help secure the two countries' national interests in the international arena with a strategic partnership.

He noted that in 2022, Iran-Russia trade volume would reach 4 billion dollars, which is not satisfactory for the two countries and needs further expansion.

Neverov, for his part, referred to the role of the two parliaments in facilitating Tehran-Moscow relations and pointed out that parliaments could play a critical role in expanding Iran-Russia relations by passing laws.

Calling the relations between Iran and Russia strategic, he underlined that with the approval of the comprehensive document of 20-year cooperation between the two states, the two countries' level of relations would be developed in all fields.
