Iran Press/ Iran: Mohammad Javad Zarif also said of the meeting which was held on Sunday that the meeting was an opportunity for consultation between government, parliament, Guardian Council and the Expediency Discernment Council, in which combating the financing of terrorism (CFT) was discussed, Iran Press News Agency reported.

"It also was decided that the parliament find a solution in which both the problems raised by the Guardian Council and demands of parliament regarding the ratification of the international convention of combating the financing of terrorism (CFT) will be answered, Iranian foreign minister continued.

Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) involves investigating, analyzing, deterring and preventing sources of funding for terrorist activities. The CFT bill is one of four bills connected to The Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Earlier this month, the Iranian Parliament passed a bill on combating the financing of terrorism as part of the country's implementation of international standards set by the FATF.

The FATF is a non-government organization founded in 1989 to develop policies to tackle money laundering. In 2001, its mandate was expanded to include the fight against financing of terrorism.
