Tehran (IP) - A group of members of Basij (voluntary) Organization was received by the Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution on the occasion of Basij Week on Saturday morning at Imam Khomeini's Husseinyeh.

Iran PressIran News: At the beginning of his speech, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei congratulated Basij's Week and said: "The blessings of Basij and this great initiative were so great that nine years later, the Founder of Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, delivered an eloquent speech in praise of Basij. In this statement, Imam Khomeini speaks to Basij like a father who loves his children."

"Basij is not just a military organization, it is higher than this. It means that the dignity of the Basij is higher than the military organization. Basij is a culture. It is a discourse. It is a thought. The culture of Basij means never getting tired of faithful help," the Leader noted.

He addressed the members of Basij and said: "You, the members of Basij are addressed by this statement today, where Imam Khomeini says, he kisses your hand."

Basij's culture consists of serving country without getting privileges

Recalling that Imam Khomeini in his announcement of the mobilization of university and seminary students in the statement of November 1998, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution demanded the students and students of religious sciences to mobilize,  noting: "This means that Basij is not only a military organization, but also Basij should be present in all fields, including the science of religion and the world."

By stating that the Imam ordered the formation of the Basij on November 27, 1979, after more than 20 days of capturing the spy den (the former US embassy), the Leader pointed out: "After the spy den was captured by the students of the Imam's line on November 4, the Americans started verbal and practical threats instead of being frustrated or afraid, the Imam brought the nation into the scene in the form of a general mobilization and caused the battlefield to not be limited to official organizations.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution considered Basij as a culture and thought and emphasized: "Basij's test on the battlefield was a glorious presence, but the dignity and position of Basij is higher than a military organization. Basij is a culture, discourse and thought. Basij is not only for the military field, it must be present in all fields including science, religion and material science."

Ayatollah Khamenei explained Basij's culture and said: "This culture consists of serving the country without expectations. Basiji culture means that a person sinks up to his knees in mud to help the flood victims or expose himself to COVID-19 to save the infected patients by the coronavirus; Basij means not getting tired of faithful help."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution considered Basij's presence in the fields of science and research as another field of Basij and stated: "Young people who were men of science and research, like the late Kazemi, were successful members of Basij. In confronting the enemy and military war, they boldly entered the scene and were not afraid of the enemy. They entered every scientific campaign and used all their strength.

Emphasizing that the Basij culture is culture of the unknown worriers, the Leader went on to say: "In the recent cases, the Basij were oppressed in order not to let the oppressed nation be targeted by a rioter, mercenary or a negligent side.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated that "generational divide is intellectual talk and has no reality." He highlighted that he did not consider the spirit of Basij to be limited to one generation and period, saying: "This spirit does not belong to the 80s, 2000s and 2020s generations, you are the young people who did not see the imam and era of holy defense, but you have the same youthful spirit of the war."

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed: "Today, the country has the capacity to train people with the culture of Basij. Basij also has the capacity to move the country forward step by step."

The Commander-in-Chief pointed out: "We have millions of  Basij-minded people in the Muslim world, whose language is the same as ours, their orientations are the same as ours."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution considered Basij's work as a leap in the country, without the expectation of getting privileges or pretense, and counted it as one of the blessings of Basij, pointing out that: "Basij activates the element of spirituality in every movement, as the prominent scientist of Royan Center prays when he achieves progress."

He listed pragmatism as one of the characteristics of Basij and added: "Beside pragmatism, Basij is idealistic, so you should maintain the spirit of Basij and not be proud of the name."

Recalling that Basij has a prominent place in the political geography of the Islamic world, he added: "The Western colonial front has a special approach to West Asia because this region is important, the most important factor in the movement of the industrial wheels of the West is the oil that exists in this region."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution elsewhere highlighted the geographical and geopolitical features of West Asia and especially Iran. Recalling that the Islamic Revolution changed the hearts of Iran's neighboring nations, the Leader said: "Americans thought that before they attacked Iran, the neighboring countries which are the strategic depth of the Islamic Republic are paralyzed. The Americans themselves revealed this plan in 2006 and said that the six countries of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, and Somalia should be overthrown first, and then they deal with Iran.

Ayatollah Khamenei added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran never entered North Africa, but in three countries of Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, Iran's policy worked, which resulted in the defeat of the US in these countries."

Referring to the bravery of the former commander of the IRGC's Quds Force, Qasem Soleimani, the Commander-in-Chief added: "The name of Qasem is offensive to Iran's enemies because the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran's policy, which thwarted the deep plan of the enemy, was in the hands of martyr Qassem Soleimani."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution added: "Basij should not forget that the main conflict is with global arrogance, these people are either oblivious, ignorant, or mercenary."

Ayatollah Khamenei further pointed out: "Some people claim political understanding, but their analyses make people feel sorry; those who claim understand politics say that in order to silence these unrests, you have to solve their problems with the United States."

The Commander-in-Chief emphasized: "One thing that will solve our problem with the US is to bow to the US. Which Iranian is willing to bow to the US? Anyone who is Iranian and has zeal is not willing to bow, why don't they understand that the US wants the Iranian nation to cross all the red lines.
