Tehran (IP) - For the first time in the world, Iran has formed a drone carrier flotilla, which has the ability to fly hundreds of drones at the same time, the commander of Iran's navy says.

Iran PressIran News: Pointing out that attack helicopters and long-range drones will join the navy, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani said the navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran can cover at least a radius of more than 2,000 kilometers anywhere it is stationed.

Speaking in a press conference on Tuesday morning, Rear Admiral Irani noted: "For the first time, we will receive naval attack helicopters, which will be of great help in maritime operations, especially in escorting vessels."

"In the field of drones, we will add up-to-date drones with a range of more than 2,000 kilometers to the army's navy," said the commander.

He added: "By joining the long-range UAVs to the navy, we will be able to cover a minimum radius of more than 2,000 kilometers in any part of the world, and we have various achievements in the field of missile systems."

Referring to the upcoming drills, the commander of the navy said: "In the coming months, a combined naval exercise will be held in the Oman Sea and the Indian Ocean.
