In a conversation with his Kazakh counterpart, Iran's President said that Tehran-Astana relations have always been progressing and the interactions and relations between the two countries will be further strengthened.

Iran PressIran News: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev secured a second term in Sunday's snap election, winning 81.31% of the vote, the central Asian nation's Central Election Commission said on Monday.

Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi congratulated Kassym Jomart Tokayev on his re-election in Kazakhstan’s presidential election, calling for the expansion and deepening of relations in all fields. Raisi expressed hope that in the new term, as in the past, and in light of the joint cooperation of the officials of the two friendly and brotherly countries, the two sides will witness further deepening of relations.

Referring to the good agreements reached in the numerous meetings between the presidents of the two countries, Iran's president said: "The 18th meeting of the Tehran-Astana Cooperation Commission will be held in the near future, which can have useful and effective results in the direction of implementing bilateral agreements and improving the level of relations between the two countries, especially in the economic field."

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, also expressed his gratitude to the Iranian President in this telephone conversation, adding: "Iran is a close neighbor and friend of Kazakhstan, and the two countries have many capacities and fields to expand bilateral and regional cooperation."

The President of Kazakhstan stated that he has ordered the officials of his respective government to cooperate as much as possible in order to strengthen and deepen the relations between the two countries, especially in the economic field.
