In a report referring to the opening ceremony of the biggest football festival in the world, Al-Raya Qatari newspaper announced that verses from the Holy Quran will be recited at the beginning of the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The report continued, Qatar is committed to preserving Islamic customs and traditions, as the World Cup will be a great opportunity to change the false image of the Arab and Islamic world, which is a great challenge that Qatar can overcome by brilliantly hosting the most prominent football event.
Yesterday (Saturday), the FIFA fan festival saw the cessation of celebrations and music until the end of prayer time.
The opening ceremony in a tent-shaped stadium will be held at 1440 GMT, ahead of the first match between hosts Qatar and Ecuador.
The 22nd World Men's Football Championship is scheduled to be held in Qatar from today (Sunday), November 20 to December 18, 2022.
