Gaza (IP) - Following the massive fire in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Authority declared Friday a day of public mourning.

Iran PressMiddle East: Last night (Thursday), 21 people from the Abu Raya family died as a result of a fire in the Jabalia camp, north of the Gaza Strip.

Jabalia Camp is a Palestinian refugee camp located 3 kilometers north of Jabalia.

According to Al-Mayadeen TV channel, Mahmoud Abbas, the Head of the Palestinian Authority, condoled the death of 21 Palestinian citizens as a result of the fire incident in Gaza, and announced today (Friday) as a national mourning day.

14 children were among the victims of fire that engulfed a residential building.

The non-operating General Directorate of Defense of Gaza also announced that the bodies of the victims were taken to a hospital in the Gaza Strip.

According to this report, critical reactions to the fire incident are increasing, the Palestinian battalions also expressed their condolences for the death of 21 Palestinian citizens as a result of this incident.

Flags in Palestine were flown at half-mast in honor of the victims of this incident.
