Iran Press/ Iran News: In the past few days, several Iranian platforms (applications) that provide services in the field of messaging and transportation were removed from the foreign software store (Google Play Store).
Issa Zarepour, Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology, stated: "The owners of some prominent platforms in the world, who consider themselves the exclusive owners of the information technology field, have tried to prevent the growth and development of technology in Iran for many years by adopting monopolistic policies and multiple standards, and this is not the first time that under the pretext of sanctions, people and even Iranian users all over the world are deprived of using products made by young Iranian experts.
Zarepour said: "Although this issue has been done many times under various pretexts, repeating it in the current situation where Iranian platforms have developed well in various fields, and people have shown interest in using them, strengthens the suspicion that such decisions are political."
The Iranian official added: "Not long ago, the US administration announced that it lifted the sanctions in the field of information technology for Iran so that the people of Iran could benefit from American technological services! But at the same time, they limit access to popular Iranian services that are the result of the efforts of Iranian elite youth in knowledge-based companies!"
